CONTEXT
The global economic crisis has severely impacted Peru. It has inhibited access to education and accentuated a decline of interest in the humanities, those studies which cultivate understanding of the human person. In a country like Peru whose culture is already deeply imbued with Christian values, a complete understanding of the teachings of the Church is essential support in aiding families to live in conformity to the values of the Gospel. In Peru insitutions offering quality higher education are concentrated in the capital, Lima. Due to this, people living in the rest of the country are often unable to pursue higher education under instructors with adaquate credentials and education. The Institute of Faith and Culture (IFC), which is a part of Antonio Ruiz de Montoya University, has devised a program of biblical and religious studies held each summer, where busy professionals are able to take courses during their vacations. The Institute draws its faculty from the most prestigious univesities in Lima, seeking to provide the highest possible quality education for the students. Those engaged in pastoral work, as well as lay people, can take courses delving into practical issues such as faith and justice, bioethical issues, and many other relevant themes pertaining to Peruvian society.

IMPACTHOPE’S OBJECTIVES
